Energy source  is hugely important to economic development and it allows everything while sheer cash on hand does not.

switching network nodes, fiber optic broadband cables, WiFi
wireless networks, printers and photocopiers as well as
traditional printing presses, production equipment from grain milling to plastic injection molding, aluminum refining, copper refining, steel mills' electric arc furnaces, cement
manufacturing ballmills and conveyors, underground mines
surface mines, oil refineries, chemical plants
nitrogen/ammonia fertilizer plants, glassmaking, television
broadcasting and reception, Internet, E-Commerce, farm
irrigation systems, all forms of manufacturing, retailers cash
registers and refrigeration, home appliances.
